In his 45-year career as a dealer of illuminated manuscripts and rare books, Heribert Tenschert has owned around 1,500 manuscripts in addition to countless valuable printed books, researched their origin and provenance, meticulously described them in his catalogues together with renowned scholars and made them known to the public. Many of these rare and precious cimelia were sold to important libraries and museums and even more to passionate collectors from all over the world. A few notable examples are presented below.
